We went to a Korean BBQ restaurant in Shibuya.
It’s on Dogenzaka street, pretty close to Shibuya 109. You can enjoy authentic Korean style BBQ there, with Korean pop music. I believe the restaurant is kind of famous because there were some autographs pinned up on the wall. Tried to figure out who they are, but could not read them. The restaurant staff are all Koreans, and most of them do not speak fleunt Japanese. You have to speak out loud for them to understand what you want to order, and yet they still don’t understand you.
However, the food was very good.
It’s interesting that they use Shichirin (七輪), the Japanese traditional grill.

A friend of mine, Nari is looking after the meet 🙂 The thing above the Shichirin vacuums up the smoke, so your clothes don’t get stinky. Very handy, huh?

This is Harami, skirt steak. Korean BBQ sauce is sweet and spicy, which goes so well with the meet.

This is Korean beer, OB beer.

I had Makkori, sorry I don’t know the spellings. It’s Korean Sake. A bit too sweet for me, though.

This is called Tejicarubi, again I’m not sure if I’m spelling right. I don’t know any Korean 🙁 It’s Korean pork sparerib. It takes a while to cook it, but it’s really tasty.

I forgot the name of the soup. It has lots of collagen in it.

One thing that disappoints me a lot is, they don’t serve raw beef liver anymore. Raw liver is one of my favorite dishes, and I really looked forward to it. Very disappointing. It’s a shame that the Japanese government is moving towards prohibiting sales of raw beef liver.
We went in a group of four, had so much food and drinks, and paid only 5,000 yen each. Pretty reasonable for Tokyo, I think. I strongly recommend this place. The name of the restaurant is…let me see…it’s Hanuri. You can check it out here.

というわけで、焼肉で暑さを乗り切りましょう!
